Corporate Social RESPONSIBILITY
We recognise the need to support local community projects. To provide vital care programs with specific initiatives for the needy and disadvantaged. For us, it is not just checking a corporate social responsibility box; we want to make sure we impact the community in the long term. Xpertek supports the communities with equipment, skills as well as training.
Since 2001 Oliver’s House has improved the lives of disadvantaged people in the Zenzele informal settlement. They have a children’s care and an education and computer training centre. In 2006 this non-profit organisation started to create “Oliver’s Village”. It is situated on 11 acres of land in Putfontein next to the Zenzele settlement. The team offers a unique and socially sustainable village including medical, educational, independent water and power supplies, and food production facilities to the community.
The aim is to focus on community education from young children to adults. They work towards a sustainable and better future for the community. We are proud to be involved with this project.
Refilwe Community Project
Since 1991 this organisation has been bettering communities’ lives in the Lanseria area. With a strong focus on childcare, community skills, as well as skills development programs. Apart from goods and equipment gifts, Xpertek’s Chairman donates his time to teach woodworking skills at Refilwe.
From 1991 to 2005 they established a primary health care clinic which incorporated home based care and tuberculosis management programs. Now they also have a hospice, school and include a shelter for abandoned children.
